The problem of the development of international cooperation in the sphere of culture is considered, the relevance of which has been growing in recent years in connection with the need to reduce international tension and increase the level of trust between the peoples of different countries. Examples are given of the successful development of such cooperation between Russia and Bulgaria, in which non-governmental organizations play an important role.
