The article is devoted to current pedagogical problems associated with the possible emergence of a new “digital” generation in Russian educational institutions. The analysis of a number of Western studies conducted in the second half of the 2000s, as well as studies of the mid-2010s, devoted to the “digital” generation in Russia, was carried out. The results of a study conducted in 2018 in the university and schools of one of the Russian regions are presented. An assumption is made about possible pedagogical ways of reducing the influence of the negative sides of “digitalization”.
